Fee Payment

This webpage provides information related to accepted payment methods, payment and proof of funding deadlines, and paying in installments.

If you are instead looking for information related to Tuition, fees, textbook, and supply costs, see our Tuition and Fees webpage. For information related to withdrawals and tuition refunds, see our Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refunds webpage.

Did you know?

  • Tuition is charged on a program basis, not per course.
  • Payments are due on the full payment deadlines, unless you have signed up for a payment or installment plan.
  • When a payment date or deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment will be withdrawn the next business day.
  • Admitted students can view a detailed listing/breakdown of their tuition and fees in the My Billing Information section of their Student Portal Account approximately four months prior to program start date.
  • International students only - your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) includes an estimated dollar amount owing for tuition and fees. This amount does not include health insurance or other student fees.

Accepted payment methods

MITT strongly advises that online banking is the fastest and preferred method of payment by anyone with a Canadian bank account. Payments are processed through the financial institution safely and effectively.

Option 1: Online Banking from a Canadian Bank Account

  • Available through most major financial institutions
  • Important: Online bill payments can take up to three (3) business days to process. Please allow for this time before your payment deadline or a late payment fee of $100 may be applied to your account.
  • Log into your online banking, search and select MITT as a payee (institution name may also appear as Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology, WTC, or Winnipeg Technical College)
  • When prompted, enter your student ID as the account number
  • Instructions for online banking "Skip the Line, Pay Online" [pdf]

Option 2: Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)

Option 3: In-Person Payment by Interac

  • To pay your fees in-person, please call 204 989 6500 or email the CSR team to arrange for an appointment
  • Appointments are available at both Henlow and Pembina campuses
  • Cash payments are not accepted

Option 4: Money Order/Bank Draft/Certified Cheque

  • Payment must be in Canadian dollars
  • Payable to "Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology"
  • Be sure to include your student ID (payments that are received without a student ID will not be processed)
  • Mail your payment to:
Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology
7 Fultz Blvd
Winnipeg, MB
R3Y 1G4

Option 5: Government Student Loan or Sponsorship

  • Government student loan - submit proof of an approved loan by logging in to your Manitoba Student Aid account, and clicking on the 'My Award Information' tab. Submit a screen shot of the approved loan information, along with your full name and MITT student ID, by email to csr@mitt.ca
  • Sponsored student - for information about being a sponsored student and the process required for sponsoring agencies, see our sponsorship webpage
  • Deadline to submit proof of student loan or sponsorship - refer to the Payment and Proof of Funding Deadlines section below

Option 6: Rotessa Payment Plan (available to Domestic applicants only)

  • Supplemental Rotessa information and the accompanying program-specific Rotessa form will be provided to eligible applicants in their offer of admission.

Notice of Change: Effective August 1, 2022, MITT discontinued Wire Transfers as a method of payment. International bank transfers and online payments can continue to be made via CIBC International Student Pay OR Convera. Click here [PDF] for more information about this change.

Important note for students working with a Recruitment Agent: MITT policy does not permit Recruitment Agents to make tuition and fee payments on behalf of a student. Please pay MITT directly using one of these options:

Option 1: Bank Transfer and Online Payment

  • CIBC International Student Pay - offers a secure online portal for international students to make tuition payments in your local currency at competitive foreign exchange rates. A CIBC bank account is not required to send a payment on this platform.
  • Convera - allows students to pay fees in the currency of your choice. This option is useful for students who do not have a Canadian bank account.

Option 2: Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)

YEAR 2 STUDENTS

Payment and proof of funding deadlines - see applicable start intake above.

Tuition and fees - are loaded in the Student Portal in late June/early July. For an estimated fees amount, see our Tuition & Fees page.

Installment payment amounts – International students only

International students unable to pay the full payment amount by the full tuition payment deadline may choose to pay in two installments. Students choosing to pay in two installments will be charged a $50 administrative fee.

The chart below indicates the installment payment amounts international students can expect to pay after paying the $5,000 admission deposit fee and including the $50 administrative fee. Year 2 full tuition amounts appear higher because a deposit payment is not required.

Installment payment deadlines are listed in the applicable Payment and Proof of Funding Deadlines intake.
