The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) is a public college where education connects directly to opportunity. We keep class sizes small and our programs focused—shaped by industry, built for real careers, and open to learners from all backgrounds.

What we do
MITT offers certificate, diploma, and post-graduate programs in five key areas:
Applied business
Design and manufacturing technologies
Health and human services
Information and communication technology
Skilled trades
We also provide essential pathways for lifelong learning through our English Language programs and one of Manitoba’s largest Adult Learning Centre networks, supporting students who need to upgrade their education or develop language skills for academic and professional success.
How we do it
At MITT, education goes beyond the classroom. We work closely with industry partners to develop programs that address current job market demands. Our approach includes:
Hands-on training
Students learn using tools and industry-standard equipment in state-of-the-art simulation labs.
Work-integrated learning
75% of our programs include a work placement, giving students direct industry experience.
Employability skills
Every program integrates MITT’s Success@Work skills—communication, adaptability, professionalism, and problem-solving—to help students transition smoothly into the workforce.
Expert instructors
Our instructors are industry professionals with years of experience, ensuring students gain relevant, up-to-date knowledge.
Personalized student support
From career services to mental health resources, MITT provides a supportive learning environment where students can thrive.
