Student Advisors

Our student advisors are here to guide and support you throughout your time at MITT. We offer:

  • Help with academic planning, including program requirements and program transfers.
  • Offer advice on adjusting to college life, including time management and study strategies.
  • Coordinate accessibility supports as well as accessibility grants and funding, and connections to off-campus supports.
  • Connect you with campus resources like financial aid, mental health support, and career services.
  • Support international students transitioning to Winnipeg or adjusting to a new learning environment.
  • Support Indigenous students with program/sponsor applications, funding, awards, and bursaries, study planning, and community building.

Library Resources and Study Spaces

Support & Reference

In-person service desks and a virtual chat service provide research assistance, information literacy instruction, and help navigating library collections. 

Borrowing & Equipment

Students can borrow print books, print journals, and tech/wellness equipment (including, phone chargers, and fidget devices). Delivery of physical items to South Winnipeg Campus will be available to all students. 

Instruction

Staff deliver tailored in-person and online training covering research strategies, effective searching, source evaluation, citation skills, and Copyright.

Study Spaces

Students looking for a quiet place to study can visit the Student Success Centre (HNL 101) at the South Winnipeg Campus.

Both the Notre Dame and Exchange District Campus libraries feature individual study areas, group spaces, and bookable pods.
