Accessibility Services
At MITT, we're committed to creating a supportive and accessible environment for all students. We recognize that each student’s needs are unique, and our Accessibility Services team is here to provide guidance and resources to ensure equal access to education.
Post-Secondary Students
Students who require accommodations are responsible for reaching out to Accessibility Services to arrange an appointment to discuss their access needs, ideally 1-2 months before the start of your program. Early planning allows us to work together to implement the accommodations that will best support your success. By giving timely notice, you help us ensure that we can coordinate any specific services, technologies, or support you might need.
Please note that waiting to request accommodations may limit the types of support we can offer or cause delays in providing them, which could impact your academic experience and program completion. We want to make sure that you have every opportunity to fully engage in your studies, so don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help you navigate this process with understanding, respect, and care.
To book an initial appointment contact the Student Advisor, Accessibility at chandel.mcauley@mitt.ca or book an appointment at https://calendly.com/chandel-mcauley
For more information about requesting accommodations at MITT, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.
Sponsoring Agencies
MITT will work closely with students and any sponsoring agencies (WCB, EAPD, TES etc.) to ensure students with disabilities have the right support in place for a smooth transition into their post-secondary studies. To help us prepare, we encourage agencies to reach out to Accessibility Services early, ideally once a student’s enrollment is confirmed. This early connection allows us to discuss the students’ needs, coordinate accommodations, and have everything ready from day one. We're available to answer questions and partner with you to make each student’s start as seamless as possible. For more information, please contact the Student Advisor, Accessibility at chandel.mcauley@mitt.ca or book an appointment at https://calendly.com/chandel-mcauley
High School Students
Our Student Services team works closely with MITT High School students and the Pembina Trails School Division to coordinate any needed adaptations or modifications to your child’s classes before the school year begins. This partnership ensures that supports are in place right from the start, so your student can focus on a successful academic experience at MITT.
