This week, we are providing further information about topics from previous updates – lockers, parking, and student services – as well as addressing some commonly received questions in these areas from the Transition Email Inbox (transition@rrc.ca).
Lockers
We wanted to provide clarity about the locker rental process for current MITT and RRC Polytech SWC students.
Returning second-year MITT students who had previous locker rental agreements will be allowed to carry over their lockers until they complete their program in 2027. Please contact the RRC Polytech Campus Store for support with locker carryover.
MITT students who did not previously have a locker rental agreement and require a rental for the 2026-27 academic year can rent in-store at the Exchange District or Notre Dame Campus Stores, or purchase online via bookstore.rrc.ca, under categories, selecting “LOCKERS MITT 2nd YEAR.” The 2026-27 fee schedule applies to all new locker rentals. Students should bring their MITT student ID for in-person locker rentals.
Parking
For Fall 2026, the existing parking rates ($25/month) and practices at South Winnipeg Campus will remain in place to provide you with notice of changes and time to adjust. Beginning January 1, 2027, parking fees at SWC for MITT and RRC Polytech employees and students will be adjusted to align with parking rates at the Notre Dame Campus (NDC). NDC includes both paved and gravel parking lots, and the same rates apply to both lot types.
Permits will be adjusted to a monthly rate of $70 plus GST, and a daily or visitor rate of $2.25 per hour up to a maximum of $9.00 per day.
Daily parking for students is available via the Hangtag app.
Student Supports
We are committed to ensuring that all students have the supports they need along their academic journeys at MITT and RRC Polytech. We will continue to provide updates on student supports as they become available and as demand increases.
RRC Polytech’s Student Support Centre (Student Success Centre) at SWC is located at 101.1 in the Henlow building and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. This location is available for student ID cards and is an access point to the full range of supports available for both MITT and RRC Polytech students.
A reminder that services at SWC will primarily be available by appointment and may be offered online or in person.
MITT students can access student support services by emailing studentservices@mitt.ca or visiting the Student Support Centre (Student Success Centre) in Room 101.1.
Students’ Association
The RRC Polytech Students’ Association (RRCSA) will have an on-campus presence at SWC. The RRCSA can be found at the desk in the General Office (Room 101) in the Henlow building. They also have the office located immediately behind the desk. MITT students can take part in RRCSA events and student groups.
Where to find past updates
Student-focused transition information is emailed to current MITT students and posted on mitt.ca and rrc.ca/mitt.
For the latest information about safety, health and security on campus, read the Fall 2026 Safety Update.
Looking ahead, the frequency of Transition Updates will be adjusted to every other week, unless there is time-sensitive information to share. In the meantime, if you have any transition-related questions please email transition@rrc.ca. Your inquiry will be forwarded to the respective area at MITT and/or RRCP.
