Manitoba Aerospace, in partnership with MITT, is offering this tuition-free 21-week training program to help those who identify as women or non-binary get the skills they need for entry-level jobs in the growing aerospace industry.

Who it is for

Women Transitioning to Careers in Aerospace 3.0 is for anyone who identifies as a woman or is non-binary and has an interest in hands-on work with complex machinery.

Program components

This training will provide entry-level pathways for new employees into the aerospace sector through gas turbine repair. The program teaches students theory and introductory practice skills related to gas turbines, including blueprint reading, along with assembly, disassembly, inspection, and cleaning of gas turbine engines. Collaboration, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving are woven throughout the training.

How to apply

Classes are full and applications are no longer being accepted.

Entrance requirements

All applicants must:

  • Identify as a woman or be non-binary
  • Be over the age of 18
  • Have no criminal record
  • Have a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant
  • Be on EI, have received EI benefits within the last 3 to 5 years, or are underemployed

Intakes

The program runs from March 10 to August 1, 2025.

A maximum of 15 students will be accepted.

Work practicum

Students in the program must complete a three-week work practicum with a local company.

Although the institution strives to have the website reflect the most current version of all programs, MITT reserves the right to change the program curriculum as necessary to meet industry and accreditation requirements. As a result, course information and learning outcomes may be adjusted prior to the scheduled course start date.
