Multi-factor authentication
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a login method that requires the user to provide a secondary authentication method to gain access to a resource such as an application. This can include confirmation through a mobile device or by entering a code, for example.
MFA helps protect online accounts and data. For MITT students, MFA is used to protect students’ Office 365 accounts. When logging into an Office 365 app (Outlook, Word, Excel), students will be prompted to configure MFA.
For more information on MFA requirements and setting it up, visit the Office 365 Multi-factor Authentication Setup Guide.
