Welcome to MITT! Orientation is your opportunity to connect with the MITT community, meet your classmates and instructors, and get prepared for a successful start to your term.

Why attend orientation?
- Gain essential information and resources to help you succeed at MITT.
- Attendance and participation are mandatory on all days listed below.
- For International Students: If your program includes a work practicum, you will need to have your co-op permit verified by Immigration Services during orientation week.
Pro Tip: Ask questions early and often! Our Student Services team and student advisors are available via phone, email, or Zoom to help you.
Orientation Schedule

Student orientation takes place over two days, and all students are expected to attend both days.
Please report to your assigned classroom on the in-person orientation day.

Pre-orientation workshop series
Prepare for your first day at MITT with our Pre-Orientation Workshop Series. These sessions will be made available in the month before programs begin. Sessions range in length from 15 minutes to one hour.
- Date: Tuesday, July 29, 10 a.m.
- Duration: 1 hour
- Learn everything you need to know before arriving in Winnipeg, including immigration, packing, finding accommodations, banking, and more. This session also introduces MITT systems like student email and MS Teams.
- Date: Wednesday, August 13, 10 a.m.
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Discover how to access MITT platforms, including MyLearning, and set up your student email.
- Tip: Have your student email username and password ready before the session.
- Date: Tuesday, August 19, 12 p.m.
- Duration: 15 minutes
- Learn strategies to manage your time effectively while balancing school, work, and personal life.
- Date: Wednesday, August 20, 12 p.m.
- Duration: 15 minutes
- Get tips on strengthening your resume, gaining experience, and making the most of work and volunteer opportunities during your program.
Meet your peers, ask questions, and connect over coffee or tea in a casual setting.
