Applied Leadership Post-Graduate Diploma – Effective Winter 2021
Whether your goal is to become a CEO, better manager or more effective team member, leadership is the key. This program will provide you the opportunity to develop your critical thinking and communication skills by focusing on essential knowledge of topics like ethics, project management and conflict resolution. As a graduate of this program, you will be well positioned to leverage your previous experience and newly acquired competencies into leadership and management positions in a wide variety of sectors and organizations.
For internationally educated students, the diploma is a great opportunity to build on an existing career in any professional field by obtaining Canadian education and social context that will make you more attractive to local employers.
Note: The Diploma is an enhancement of the former Leadership and Mangament Certificate program, designed to upgrade the quality of our leadership training and graduate outcomes.

Leaders and managers are instrumental to the success of any organization. Although a leader can manage and a manager can lead, leadership and management are not synonymous activities. This one-year program allows students to explore the dynamics and differences of leadership and management.
Students will be provided with an opportunity to develop their critical thinking skills by focusing on knowledge that is critical to successful leadership and management. Graduates of this program will be well-positioned to leverage their newly acquired knowledge and skills for leadership and management positions in a wide variety of sectors and organizations.
Continuous Program Improvement
MITT continuously reviews and improves programs to maintain relevance in the workplace and effective learning experiences for all students. Although the institution strives to have the website reflect the most current version of all programs, MITT reserves the right to change the program curriculum as necessary to meet industry and accreditation requirements. As a result, course information and learning outcomes may be adjusted prior to the scheduled course start date.
COVID-19 Response
Due to the challenges raised by COVID-19, MITT reserves the right to alter course delivery methods and/or program durations. Course deliveries may require increased percentages of online/distance learning components, alternatives to work practicums, and extended program durations to accommodate physical distancing and work practicum placement restrictions. MITT will be providing an exceptional level of enhanced student and program supports to ensure this modified program experience continues to meet all required learning outcomes for your program.
- An undergraduate diploma or degree (includes MITT’s Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Management*), with good academic standing, from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years of full-time undergraduate level coursework may also be considered.
- Demonstrated English Language Proficiency (if educated outside Canada)
- Current resumé or CV
Preferred Admission Criteria (There may be a competitive admissions process for entry to this program; meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission)
- Minimum 2 years of prior relevant work experience as demonstrated on resumé or CV
*The Business Management certificate can be used as a prerequisite for admission to MITT Post-Graduate Diploma programs. Students that complete this 12-month program will receive advanced standing for the first term of a diploma. That means you will already have the credits for the first four courses, and will earn a one-term scheduled academic break before continuing your studies.
