Data Science Fundamentals is an introductory course in data science, a field vital to business survival, job stability, and national security. Upon completion of this course you’ll possess the necessary knowledge and skill to collect, analyze, and understand data in the constantly evolving tech landscape.

You’ll learn all about:

  • Data Characteristics and Governance
  • Data in Information Systems
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Data Classification and Management
  • Data Processing with Machine Learning
Note

To achieve the CSCU Micro-Credential, course participants have 60 calendar days to challenge the CSCU exam via EC-Council, and to submit a copy of their exam certificate to LifelongLearning@mitt.ca. Extensions for writing the exam and/or providing the exam certificate will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to an administration fee of $100.

Students should be aware that if they persue an occupation in cyber security they should be able to successfully pass a criminal record check at the organization they wish to work for.

Withdrawal and Refund policy

If you choose to withdraw from this course, please note the withdrawal and refund policy outlined below:

Withdrawal form received by MITT up to 15 calendar days prior to start of class: Full refund issued, minus $100 administration fee.

Withdrawal form received by MITT within 14 calendar days and up to the day before the start of class: 50% refund issued.

Withdrawal form received by MITT on day 1 of class and beyond: No refund issued.

MITT reserves the right to cancel a course due to low enrolment. Students will receive a full refund if a course is canceled by MITT.

How to Apply

Entrance requirements

Learners will ideally have an excellent command of the English language.

Knowledge/experience of computer systems recommended.

Access to stable internet connection.

Desktop or laptop computer with a webcam, and microphone (or a headset with a microphone).
