Program Overview

    This course supports the development of press operators as craftspeople in the lithographic printing industry.

    Utilizing a combination of online learning, independent study and practical lab sessions, participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize the differences between quality and sub-par printing processes and materials, and the differences between being a technical press operator, and a print craftsperson.

    Work skills are embedded throughout the training, with a focus on problem solving, communication and collaboration.

    • The Science of Printing 
    • Press Set-up and Operations 
    • The Lithographic Print Process 

    Requirements

    Participants should be employed in the print production industry.  

    Supplies

    Participants should have access to a laptop. If access to a laptop is a barrier, assistance may be provided.
