Program Overview
This course provides a foundational understanding of blueprint reading for the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction sectors. Participants will learn to interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings, as well as identify symbols, scales, and specifications commonly used in ICI projects. Through hands-on exercises and real-world examples, students will develop the skills necessary to analyze construction documents, extract critical information, and effectively communicate the details needed to read prints on the job site.
Participants will build the basics of reading blueprints, apply their knowledge to practical skills such as calculating take-off of construction materials, and identify safe working environments and needs based on print designs. Embedded in the course are skills for success at work, including communication, problem solving, collaboration, and adaptability.
