Yes. The program includes a mandatory four-week work placement with a local employer. This experience provides hands-on learning and industry exposure, helping you apply classroom concepts in a real work environment.
To qualify for the work placement, students must:
- Meet all program eligibility criteria
- Complete all program courses
- Demonstrate a minimum keyboarding speed of 50 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
- Hold a valid co-op work permit, as required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
- Apply for their co-op permit at least four months before the practicum begins
