
The Responsive Career Pathways Project was a collaborative initiative led by Blueprint-ade, funded by the Future Skills Centre through the Government of Canada in partnership with MITT and Douglas College.
This initiative was a bold new approach to career services and workforce development that puts employees and employers at the center of the conversation. It tests an innovative model designed to meet the pressing workforce needs of small-to-medium enterprises while supporting mid-career workers.
Our mission: help individuals and employers plan for the future, unlock hidden skills, and create opportunities for internal growth.
For individuals, proactive career services build the confidence, skills, and agency needed to navigate a rapidly evolving labour market.
For employers, it strengthens connections with their workforce and creates the potential to develop more adaptable talent pipelines.
For governments, the model provides a pathway to reduce reliance on costly, reactive measures such as Employment Insurance. Even modest adoption at a national scale could generate billions in savings while boosting productivity, retention, and overall well-being.
As a result of the RCP project, MITT has developed resources and supports for:
- Working Manitobans – supports for career planning, skill development, and career conversations at the workplace
- Employers – help for businesses to identify talent, promote internal hiring, prioritize retention, and initiate succession planning
Since 2023, we’ve delivered this program to over 100 participants, helping employers, employees, and sector councils prepare for career conversations, role advancement, skill development, and more.
