On January 28, MITT announced plans to wind down operations and transition select programs to Red River College Polytech. Throughout this process, we remain committed to supporting our students and highlighting the impact of our partnerships.

MITT Electronics Technician students recently had the opportunity to see behind the scenes of a local manufacturer during a site tour at Price Electronics. The visit offered students a first-hand look at the technology, processes, and people driving Manitoba’s growing electronics manufacturing sector.
During the tour, students explored the company’s expanding facility, which produces a variety of electronic parts for heating and cooling systems, healthcare equipment, energy production, and more.
Students also had the chance to see advanced technology used in modern electronics manufacturing, like Price Electronics’ new AI-powered X-ray inspection system, built into their post-production process. When you manufacture thousands of tiny electronic pieces, you want to make sure you’re delivering the correct amount to the client. This modern system allows staff to speed up the counting process to mere seconds.
One of the most meaningful moments of the visit came when the group reconnected with MITT alumna Sharron Felicioni. A graduate of MITT’s Electronics Technician program, Sharron completed her practicum at Price Electronics 13 years ago and continues to work with the company today.
For our students, the experience provided valuable exposure to real-world production environments, emerging technologies, and certification standards within the electronics field.
