As select MITT programs and operations transition to RRC Polytech, academic and operational teams continue reviewing programs and confirming future delivery plans, guided by a student‑centred focus to ensure learners receive clear information and the support needed to complete their programs successfully.
We know that the results from the academic program review, which will determine which programs will be transitioned to RRC Polytech, will provide critical information to students, staff, and industry and community partners across our province. We are ensuring that this information is shared in as comprehensive and efficient a way as possible. We expect to provide the academic program review results the week of April 7, 2026.
Our primary goal of the academic program review is to preserve training capacity across key industries in Manitoba. The academic program review involves experts from both institutions working together to finalize the process for:
- Adopting and preserving unique programs currently offered at MITT with robust industry and student demand;
- Preserving provincial training capacity through the delivery of aligned or equivalent MITT and RRC Polytech programming with strong industry and student demand, and;
- Supporting the successful completion of current students within programs previously identified for cessation by MITT.
Together, we are ensuring that high-demand training that is critical to Manitoba’s labour market needs will continue to be delivered across our province.
Finalizing the program review is a critical step in this process and remains our shared priority. We recognize that finalizing the program review will ensure students receive clear answers about next steps regarding future program delivery, and it allows RRC Polytech to move forward with the next phases of planning.
This work builds on information shared in previous updates. RRC Polytech will permanently operate the Henlow Bay and Fultz Boulevard buildings, establishing an RRC Polytech South Winnipeg Campus to continue serving learners and the community. RRC Polytech and MITT will work together to maintain operations at the Pembina Highway building during the transition, including preserving the on‑site daycare. RRC Polytech will also continue delivering high school vocational programming in partnership with school divisions.
Further updates on the transition of MITT programs and operations to RRC Polytech will continue to be shared as this information becomes available.
