MITT is pleased to announce Marnie Bickerton as our new Executive Director, Workforce and Learning Pathways and Alyson Pile as our new Executive Director, External Relations, effective July 21, 2025.
Both Bickerton and Pile bring a deep understanding of MITT’s mission and values to their new roles.
Bickerton brings over 20 years of experience in career development from across various sectors, including post-secondary education, the tech industry, non-profits, and both private and public businesses. This includes seven years with MITT between 2014 and 2021, where she served in various leadership roles in the areas of student advising and career and workforce development.
She returned to MITT in fall 2024 to lead the career and student engagement teams. Now as Executive Director of Workforce and Learning Pathways, Bickerton oversees our Adult Learning Centres, industry training, continuing education, career and employment services, and English Language Centre, ensuring students not only find the right path, but stride through it with confidence.
“Marnie has a unique gift for seeing both the big picture and the individual student journey,” said Neil Cooke, President and CEO of MITT. “She knows how to open doors, build pathways, and help people move forward toward their goals. With her wealth of experience, history at MITT, and her genuine passion for helping others succeed, she’s the kind of leader who makes a lasting difference for our students, our partners, and our community.”
Since 2022, Pile has steered MITT’s Marketing and Communications team through big moments and bold changes to give our college its clear, confident voice during times of transformation and growth. From guiding strategic messaging during policy shifts to crafting thoughtful communications that reflect MITT’s commitment to reconciliation and community, Pile consistently demonstrates clarity, compassion, and vision.
In her new role, Pile will oversee the strategic direction and operational management of MITT’s external relations portfolio, including brand stewardship, government and stakeholder engagement, alumni and donor relations, and executive communications. She’ll continue to shape MITT’s reputation as an adaptable, student-centered college that responds to the evolving needs of learners and industry.
“Alyson’s ability to lead with both heart and strategy has made her a trusted voice across our college,” noted Cooke. “She brings a rare combination of creativity, integrity, and operational excellence to everything she does. I’m excited to see her continue to share MITT’s story in this expanded role.”
Both Pile and Bickerton bring leadership that is grounded in collaboration and care. Their work reflects a deep respect for MITT’s people and purpose and will make an impact on students and staff alike.
