MITT High School

MITT High School applications for the 2022-2023 academic year are now being accepted and will close on May 15, 2022.

MITT is an excellent option for students entering Grade 11 who are looking for an alternative to a large high school, or one that doesn’t offer training in skilled trades.

Students receive one-on-one instruction over their Grade 11 and 12 academic years in a supportive and inclusive learning environment, preparing you for high school graduation and a career in a skilled trade right after graduation.

How does it work?

Students spend half their day training in one of six apprenticeship-accredited skilled trade programs, with a dedicated cohort of high school-aged learners. The other half of the day is spent with other MITT High School students, led by a dedicated high school teacher, studying compulsory high school courses required for graduation.

What does it cost?

There is no tuition fee to attend MITT High School however, students may be required to purchase additional supplies for their technical training.

What do I earn upon graduating?

Students earn a Senior Years Technology Diploma and an MITT certificate.

Students who complete their skilled trade program with an accumulative average of 70 per cent or better in the trade subjects and level for which the program was accredited, gain employment, and register as an apprentice within two years of graduating will receive credit for Apprenticeship Manitoba in-school technical training, and hours towards the Apprenticeship Manitoba program.

What are the entrance requirements?

Successful completion of Grade 9 and 10 English Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical/Health Education, Science, and Social Studies.
