How long do I need to wait before I can obtain another exchange rate quote?

The Foreign Exchange market is dynamic, and prices are changing continuously. To protect you from this volatility, for bank wires, CIBC is able to offer protection for a period of 72 hours, not including weekends and Canadian holidays.

Can I pay in any other currency other than my home currency?

Yes. We recommend making payments in your home currency due to the preferred foreign exchange rates CIBC offers, but you will have the option to make payments in USD, CAD along with other major currencies.

Can I pay in Canadian dollars on the portal?

Yes. There is an option to select to pay in Canadian Dollars (CAD) on the Payment Options page. If CAD is selected, you will be charged a 1.25% non-refundable administrative fee.

If you choose to select another currency on the portal and then decide at your local bank that your local bank will complete the foreign exchange conversion and pay in CAD, CIBC will still charge the 1.25% non-refundable administrative fee as the portal instructions were not followed and your payment amount will be short to MITT.

Why do I have to make a payment within 72 hours?

For online payments, your transaction is finalized on the portal. For bank wires, the Foreign Exchange market is dynamic, and prices are changing continuously. I lost my instruction sheet. How can I get a copy of it?
