Academic Schedules including Important Dates

Fall Term 2023
Most certificate, diploma and post-graduate program follow what MITT calls a '7-1-7' schedule. This refers to seven weeks in class, followed by a one-week break, followed by seven weeks in class, which makes up one term. There are exceptions to this schedule for certain programs, including Carpentry and Partnership Programs.  
Work Skills Foundations Course  August 21 to October 27
Labour Day (no classes, offices closed) September 4
New student orientation September 5 to 6
Classes resume for continuing students September 6
First day of classes – new students September 7
Withdrawal deadline - 100% refund of applicable tuition and fees for Year 1 and 2 students who started the year in the fall term (does not apply to continuing students) September 13
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (no classes, offices closed) September 29 (in lieu of Sept 30)
Withdrawal deadline - 50% refund of applicable tuition and fees for Year 1 and 2 students who started the year in the fall term (does not apply to continuing students) October 6
