An academic appeal is a formal request by a student to challenge or seek reconsideration of a decision made by their academic institution. MITT students who receive a documented academic decision may appeal the decision.
Before submitting an appeal, you should carefully review the Student Appeals Policy.

You can appeal three types of college decisions:
Note: Financial difficulties, while challenging, are not considered valid grounds for an appeal.
First speak with your instructor about the academic decision to clarify and attempt a resolution.
If unresolved, escalate your appeal to your Academic Coordinator in person or in writing.
If your appeal is denied, you may escalate it to a Level 1 Formal Appeal.
Submit the Appeal Form and include a concise statement of grounds, evidence, and the remedy you seek. If no evidence is provided to support your appeal, it will be denied and not permitted to proceed.
If you are dissatisfied with the decision of the Level 1 appeal, request that your Dean reviews your appeal.

If you are dissatisfied with the decision of the Level 2 appeal, request that the Appeals Committee reviews your appeal.

The Appeals Committee may request extra information or hold a hearing. The student will be communicated with through email if this is required.
The decision made by the Appeals Committee is final and binding.
