Program Specific Admission Requirements
Each MITT program has its own specific requirements beyond the general entrance requirements that are used to evaluate applicants and determine program eligibility. Requirements may be academic or non-academic in nature.
Examples include:
- Required courses with a certain minimum grade
- Specific skills or experience

High School Graduation and Course Equivalencies
For students educated outside Manitoba or in countries outside Canada, understanding high school graduation requirements and course equivalencies is key to ensuring you meet the general and program specific entrance requirements listed above.
Admissions Testing and Assessments
Some applicants may need to complete admissions testing as part of their application process.
TPAT is required for all internationally educated applicants and may or may not be required for domestically educated applicants depending on what 40S Math they’ve taken/grade achieved.
Other tests such as the Technology Program Aptitude Test (TPAT) help applicants to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programs determine if they have the skills necessary to be successful in MITT’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programs.
Applicants with Previous Post-Secondary Studies
If you’ve completed courses at MITT or another recognized institution in Canada, you may be eligible to transfer credits toward your program.
Your previous post-secondary studies may also be used to meet general or program-specific requirements for post-secondary programs in place of high school.
Mature Students
At MITT, we recognize that education is a lifelong journey. The Mature Student Admission pathway offers opportunities Canadian citizens or permanent residents aged 19 and older who may not meet traditional admission criteria.
Homeschool Students
At MITT, we value the diversity of academic backgrounds and experiences. That’s why we proudly recognize and accept homeschooling education as part of our admissions process.
Admission from Adult Learning Centres
The pathway to MITT post-secondary programs is crafted to be both accessible and supportive, enabling adult learners to smoothly transition into their chosen fields of study. MITT provides additional support for applicants from our adult learning centres, ensuring a seamless transition to post-secondary education.
Program Re-entry
Sometimes, life throws unexpected challenges our way. If your studies have been disrupted, you have the option to apply for readmission to continue your program.
