Student Life

MITT Student Activities

We want to expand your MITT experience beyond the classroom. Student Services leads a number of student groups and activities throughout the year to provide opportunities for students across all programs to meet, learn from each other, and develop their workplace Essential Skills. The Aboriginal Students Club, Culture Connections, and Women In Trades and Technology (WITT) group are some of the highlights of the MITT student experience each year. Watch for news and announcements throughout the year on how to get involved!

Each year students have the opportunity to apply their skills and get involved with several community initiatives. Past volunteer opportunities have included projects and events with: Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, and Koats for Kids.

Put your new skills to the test before you graduate! MITT students compete in over 40 different contests within the skilled trades and technology areas. Gold medal winners will form Team Manitoba and compete against their peers at the Canadian Skills Competition hosted by a new province each year. This is a great way to network with your future industry. For further information, visit Skills Manitoba.
