MITT Volunteer Program (MVP)

If you answer yes to at least one of the previous questions, then the MVP is for you!

What is it?

The MITT Volunteer Program (MVP) is a skills-based volunteer program. This is an ongoing volunteer program where students register, volunteer, and receive recognition for their participation. One application, one interview and many volunteer opportunities. The MVP includes a variety of on-campus and off-campus opportunities.

What is in it for me?

Well, the list is quite lengthy but we picked a few

In addition, you will get recognition based on the number of hours that you volunteer. The more you do the more you get!

 Level 1  Volunteer 10 hours - Receive a Volunteer Certificate
 Level 2  Volunteer over 25 hours and under 50 hours - Receive a Volunteer Certificate
- Receive a personalized reference letter (upon request)
- Receive a MVP T-shirt
 Level 3  Volunteer over 50 hours - Receive a Volunteer Certificate
- Receive a personalized reference letter (upon request)
- Receive a MVP T-shirt
- Invitation to the Volunteers' Day* celebration!

*Volunteers' Day is an annual event, coordinated by Student Life, which takes place on June 26th.


 Application process

Step 1: Complete the MVP application form

Step 2: Attend the general training meeting

Training meetings take place once a month.

Step 3: Receive acceptance email

After the training meeting, you will receive an email as a confirmation of acceptance into the program.

Step 4: Receive list of volunteer opportunities

You will receive an email on the 25th of each month outlining the different volunteer opportunities available.

Step 5: Sign up for a volunteer opportunity

Contact to choose a volunteer opportunity. Please note that the positions are offered on a first-come-first –served basis, so don’t hesitate to choose an opportunity.

Step 6: Volunteer!

Step 7: Reach a milestone and receive recognition

The more hours you volunteer – the more recognition you will receive.

Volunteer Job Orientation

The staff member supervising you will provide you with an orientation and training. Depending on the task this will be arranged shortly before your shift or at another time.
