Entrance Requirements

Applicants should have successfully completed credits or equivalent standing from a Canadian school in:

  • Grade 12 Math (40S)
  • Grade 12 English Language Arts (40S)

Applicants must also have:

  • English Language Proficiency (if educated outside Canada)

Before the start of this program, international students will be required to complete Introduction to College and Work, a four-week preparatory program designed to help transition students successfully to the cultural, technical, and work expectations of Canadian post-secondary and workplace environments. Please see the Introduction to College and Work program page for more information.

Description

If you’re looking to jump into the work force right away, business administration is the right program for you. The occupational group with the most expected job openings is business and finance and administration, with 18% of the total Manitoba job openings outlook, while sales and services is close behind with 16.9%. We will connect you to both the theory and practical applications to connect or advance your career in business and/or administration.  Our program provides you with a leading edge in a competitive market, whether it’s for advancing or to re-entering  the workforce with up-to-date software application skills (Microsoft Office and Quickbooks) as well as the essential skills required in today’s business world. This program can lead you to administrative positions including as a general office worker, legal and/or medical administration assistant, or financial or insurance-related.

Please note: MITT values continuous improvement in our programs and reviews programs on an ongoing basis to ensure relevance to changing educational objectives and employment market needs. This program is undergoing revisions for the 2017-2018 academic year. Applicants should be aware that courses and content are subject to modification. Please check back for further details.

Work Practicum

The Business Administrative Assistant program features a Work Practicum placement in a local business/office which provides students with on-the-job training and experience. Students will apply skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills through working within an actual employer’s facility.
