Post Graduate Certificate in International Business

The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) and the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), a center of excellence for trade accreditation, have partnered and are now providing the Post Graduate Certificate in International Business (PGIB)  which will prepare up and coming trade practitioners for a successful career in International Business. This one year, multi-credentialed program explores the strategies needed to establish an enduring global presence.

Entrance Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • An undergraduate diploma or degree, preferably in business or a related discipline, with good academic standing, from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years of full-time undergraduate level coursework may also be considered.
  • English Language Proficiency (if educated outside Canada).

Applicants must also have graduated from high school with a recognized curriculum and have completed the following credits:

  • Grade 12 Math, or equivalent
  • Grade 12 English Language Arts, or equivalent.

Supply lists are provided to students in their admissions package. Students are required to bring a laptop or tablet for use during this program.

Description

MITT's Post Graduate Certificate in International Business prepares students for a successful career by broadening their knowledge, skills, and appreciation of the customs and practices that affect business activities when dealing with other countries. Students will be exposed to a wealth of topics related to international business, confront some of the dynamic issues and challenges of international business, and master strategies to establish an enduring global presence. This program is offered in partnership with the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), global business experts established by industry and government.

Please note: MITT values continuous improvement in our programs and reviews programs on an ongoing basis to ensure relevance to changing educational objectives and employment market needs. This program is undergoing revisions for the 2017-2018 academic year. Applicants should be aware that courses and content are subject to modification. Please check back for further details.

Specializations

Forum for International Trade Training (FITT)

Students who successfully complete both the MITT and FITT assessments are able to receive multiple credentials, including the MITT Post Graduate Certificate, a Certificate and/or Diploma from FITT in International Trade, and may be eligible to receive their FITT Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) Designation, the only professional trade designation of its kind.
