Post Graduate Certificate in International Business - Winnipeg - MITT

The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) and the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), a center of excellence for trade accreditation, have partnered and are now providing the Post Graduate Certificate in International Business (PGIB)  which will prepare up and coming trade practitioners for a successful career in International Business. This one year, multi-credentialed program explores the strategies needed to establish an enduring global presence.

Entrance Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • An undergraduate diploma or degree, preferably in business or a related discipline, with good academic standing, from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years of full-time undergraduate level coursework may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated English Language Proficiency (if educated outside Canada).

Applicants must also have a Manitoba high school diploma (or equivalent) and have completed the following credits:

  • Grade 12 Math (40S) with a grade of 50% or higher, or equivalent; and
  • Grade 12 English Language Arts (40S) with a grade of 50% or higher, or equivalent.

For further information regarding entrance requirements please refer to the application/admission process.

Before the start of this program, students will be required to complete Introduction to Post-Graduate Studies, a three-week preparatory program designed to help transition students successfully to the cultural, academic, and work expectations of post-graduate education and workplace environments.

Description

MITT's Post Graduate Certificate in International Business prepares students for a successful career by broadening their knowledge, skills, and appreciation of the customs and practices that affect business activities when dealing with other countries. Students will be exposed to a wealth of topics related to international business, confront some of the dynamic issues and challenges of international business, and master strategies to establish an enduring global presence. This program is offered in partnership with the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), global business experts established by industry and government.

Specializations

Forum for International Trade Training (FITT)

Students who successfully complete both the MITT and FITT (Forum for International Trade Training) assessments are able to receive multiple credentials, including the MITT Post Graduate Certificate, a Certificate and/or Diploma from FITT in International Trade, and may be eligible to receive their FITT Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) Designation, the only professional trade designation of its kind.
