Get Framing Faster!
In time for the spring construction season, and based on industry consultation, MITT will be offering an intensive course in construction framing. If you’re an employer, this course will give you framers with all the basics ready to go. If you’re a student, you can get quick entry into a high-demand industry at good starting wages.
This course prepares students quickly for direct entry into the construction industry as framers, a fundamental part of every project. Students will learn essential skills they need to start working immediately after graduating. Basic theory along with hands-on shop practice in our large, well-equipped classroom will provide the experience to work as framers in the booming construction industry.
- Framing Fundamentals
- Trade Safety Awareness
- Essential Employability Skills (reading, measurement, document use, communication, physical dexterity, working from heights, and working with others)
- 8 week in-class instruction (theory and practice)
- 4 week work practicum experience
- Hands-on practice in our large well equipped classroom and workshop
Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate in Residential Framing.
Dates: February 27 - May 19, 2017 (12 weeks in total)
Days: Monday - Friday evenings
Time: 4:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Tuition Fee: $2400.00 (textbooks are included)
Registration Deadline: February 20, 2017
Applicants should have successfully completed credits from a Canadian school or equivalent:
- Grade 12 Math (40S)
- Grade 12 English Language Arts (40S)
Applicants must also have:
- English Language Proficiency (if educated outside Canada)

Acceptance into this course will be conditional upon submission of original transcript(s) and/or documentation.
Students are required to bring: hard hat, tool belt, steel toe CSA approved work boots, and school supplies.
