President's Welcome

Office of the President

Paul Holden
President and CEO
Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology

Welcome to the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology, Manitoba's newest college! Thank you for choosing us as you start or continue your career path.

This is an exciting time to be a student at MITT.  Amazing changes have taken place over the last year, creating a brand new educational institution, one that is truly revolutionary in this province.

MITT is a unique, practical choice for career-focused students to pursue trades and technical training, with direct pathways into employment, or on to higher levels of education.  We offer exceptional flexibility to earn dual credits, complete pre-employment requirements more quickly, and transition seamlessly into advanced training here or elsewhere.

A key feature of our mandate is to respond to Manitoba’s labour market needs, which means we work with industry to develop and provide training that leads straight to employment. Our moniker, “the Work School,” is intentional.  Practicum and co-op placements with our industry partners are a part of every program, and these placements often lead to permanent positions when your program is complete.

I am very proud of our institution, and I hope you will enjoy your experience here. The student body at MITT is diverse and dynamic, and our staff and instructors work hard to create a respectful, student-centred environment.

Academic excellence is of utmost importance, and so is your experience here with us.  We value the input and feedback of our students, so I strongly encourage you to take the time to complete student satisfaction surveys during your time at MITT. Your opinions help us to continuously improve to meet your needs.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to connect with your Instructor or one of our Student Advisors. We all look forward to getting to know you, and wish you the best of luck with your program of choice!
