Office of the President
President and CEO
Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology
Paul Holden was appointed to the position of President & CEO of the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) in February 2014, after 21 years with the Province of Manitoba.
Since then, he has focused on revolutionizing MITT; creating a unique career-focused institution that delivers relevant, skills-based, secondary, pre-employment, and post-secondary programming, all under one roof.
Paul is a proven leader with a demonstrated record of achievement in both the public and private sectors. Previously, as the Senior Executive Director of Manitoba Jobs and Skills Development, Paul was responsible for a large portion of the provincial labour market portfolio. This included Apprenticeship, Employment and Workforce Development programs and services, Industry Sector Councils, and Essential Skills. Concurrently, as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Cambrian Credit Union, he led the corporation to grow from a $300 million operation to a $3 billion operation over a twelve-year period.
As MITT embarks on a new strategic direction, the institute has benefitted from Paul’s expertise in strategic planning, financial management, service transformation, organizational design and change management, along with his background and relationships with Manitoba’s business leaders. Working closely with the provincial government and partners in industry and education, Paul continues to position the institute as a respected leader in education and a key partner in supporting Manitoba’s skills agenda.
