Develop your digital literacy

MITT is pleased to partner with Tech Manitoba to deliver free introductory computer workshops at our Henlow campus starting this fall. These three day workshops are meant for anyone looking to learn computer basics and improve their overall digital literacy skills.

Introduction to Email, Social Media & Privacy 

Learn the basics about emails and posting on social media while protecting your personal safety and privacy     

Location: 130 Henlow Bay 

Dates: November 6, 13 and 20  

Times: 4:30 – 7:30 pm

You will learn how to:

  • Define the main uses of today’s emails
  • Explain the difference between social media and social networking
  • Identify popular platforms used today and distinguish the differences
  • Describe the different attacks people fall victim to

Introduction to Microsoft Word  

Suitable for complete beginners to Microsoft Word 

Location: 130 Henlow Bay                                                      

Dates: November 27, December 4 and 11 

Times: 4:30 – 7:30 pm

You will learn how to:

  • Demonstrate how to work within multiple documents
  • Make use of the ‘switch between documents’ tool
  • Outline how to view documents side by side
  • Summarize how to scroll in sync
